Athena: Greek goddess of wisdom and battle, and the patron goddess of Athens. Athena sprang from Zeus' head, from which Hephaestus had to crack open to relieve the god's headache. She was fully grown, and in full body armor. Athena invented many things, such as the chariot, the loom, and the olive tree, all of which she granted to mankind. One of the more popular goddesses, she often helped heroes who used their intelligence, like Odysseus. She dislikes Poseidon and Ares. Her symbols are the olive tree and the Aegis, a shield mounted with Medusa's head. Her animal is the owl.
