Artemis: Greek goddess of the Hunt and the moon. Artemis is the daughter of Zeus and Hera, twin sister to Apollo. She vowed to be a maiden forever, so her followers were young, unmarried girls that shunned men. She is a magnificent hunter and archer, roaming the world with her band of maidens, and, in some stories, a pack of wolves. Her symbol is the silver bow (Apollo's is golden), and the moon; her animal is the deer.
